Things That I Find Romantic

Most people will think the word 'romantic' as an adjective. Well, it is. And if it is described as a noun, you will get words like 'flowers', 'chocolates', 'large teddy bear', 'hugs and kisses', 'candlelit dinner', or a simple awful stuff like 'matching mugs'. Maybe it's just my style of relationships, but I don't find those things as close as the word 'romantic'. I don't even text good mornings or good nights, or asking what's up, To me, romantic is the ideal view on how I see life, finding that secret things that make me feel...romantic. Sure, it may or may not involve sentimental acts and I'm not saying I'm not romantic. Scorpios are born to be peculiarly romantic, whether it is toward a living breathing thing or merely a simple cup they bought during Euro 2004.

So, I made my own list of things that I find romantic, in my own way. The first 10 is my first discover, and I wrote them down on my notebook back in 2012.
  1. Rows of empty seats in a stadium or cinema, alone or with someone to talk about the universe.
  2. A nice 80s songs playlist that makes me want to date 80s Kevin Bacon.
  3. Ice skating before 10 am, or right after the ice is cleaned.
  4. Extending hand to touch the rainfall, in moving vehicles.
  5. Dimly lit bedroom and earthy scent candles.
  6. Galleries and museums. Just because.
  7. Making a playlist/mixtape for someone. In emotional orders.
  8. How alarm works to wake me up early in the morning.
  9. Socks that match perfectly (and look good) with my old shoes.
  10. The process of mixing three or more paints to create that exact one colour.
  11. Have someone doodling on your skin using black sharpies.
  12. That one barista who remembers I don't drink coffee.
  13. Watching films that mostly come with great soundtracks, peculiar relationships, beautiful cinematography and cool shoes, projected to bedroom ceiling.
  14. Knowing someone recalls lines from Lord of the Rings, and prefers Glorfindel to carry Frodo instead of Arwen in the film, just like in the book.
  15. People who still use old phones (like me).
  16. The process of adjusting camera zoom lens to capture the image, and the sound of shutter release button on cameras.
  17. A road trip out of the city. Stopping by small towns that barely know what a hoverboard is.
  18. Finding songs that have lyrics as if they were written for you.
  19. Walking into secondhand bookstores/record stores.
  20. My iPod. Always have the perfect shuffle based on my moods.
  21. Fresh physical music albums that I just bought.
  22. Busy people in subways.
  23. Meaningful raps with powerful voices.
  24. Alleys and small insignificant roads, under sunlight or slight snow.
  25. Have someone covering you a blanket when you're asleep.
  26. Long hot showers. Alone. With my shower playlist.
  27. The airports. I don't know, I just love seeing busy people here and there out and about.
  28. Over-sized clothing. It feels like it's not mine but it's mine or it's mine but it isn't. And the empty areas that doesn't even touch your skin.
  29. My grandfather's old film cameras that he used to bring around, which still have the payment receipts back in late 80s to early 90s, and its boxes along with the manual.
  30. Printed photos (or polaroids) with handwritten side notes behind/on them.
  31. Bookmarks that are not exactly bookmarks (receipts, mini flyers, post-its, etc.).
  32. Shoulder kisses.
  33. When someone holds the door for you.
  34. How disco ball reflects an empty dark room, with Lana Del Rey songs in the background.
  35. House furniture, covered in white in a lifeless room.
  36. Ice lollies in front of ferris wheel in summer nights.
  37. When someone apologize first before you even notice what they have done wrong.
  38. How each houses or families have different scents. Not the laundry, not the foods, it just feels different every visits.
  39. Side notes left on old books. Curious as to what kind of pen they used, what was the weather like, what was it like to not have a mobile phone. Or did they even read the message.
  40. When someone makes a tea for you. On a bad day.
  41. Handwritten letters.
  42. How Anakin wants to be perfect and powerful so he can protect everyone he loves and not being weak to the extent that even if he has to turn into darkness and become Vader.
  43. White sheets, socks, cereal in bed, and cartoon marathons. My preferences are We Bare Bears, Futurama, Totally Spies, Kim Possible, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Scooby Doo, Flintstones ...I'm just a Cartoon Network trash, ain't I?
  44. Observing snacks and drinks in convenient stores. I don't snack regularly.
  45. A room with open windows and warm sunlight shines through, then lay my head on an empty table, extending my hand to bathe in sunlight. I can see the dust flying around but it's okay.
  46. Walking alone inside supermarkets with that certain playlist. Or audio books.
  47. When someone gives you their raincoat bottoms in a rainy storm, just because I only wear a raincoat tops.
  48. The memory of someone's laughter. How they laugh, what were they laughing about, when were they laugh like that.
  49. That smile between kisses. You don't see it, you feel it.
  50. That small hotel room near Gare du Nord; that small room in Yujin and Christopher's house that has a view to Namsan tower; that hotel room in London when I had a cold; that cute express hotel in Rotterdam which includes breakfast with variety of cheese where I can get extra soy milk from the kitchen; that apartment in Nanterre which will be flocked by birds when I cook, and its Sunday morning grocery market cheaper than in Paris; that hotel in Houston which have Starbucks as their free service; and that super small room in Kyoto where I almost died out of coldness.

winterlist

I know it's not even winter here, but I feel like the weather has been winter the day rain poured really hard in here. Almost all the time I want to have a cute pink raincoat, cause umbrellas just don't work, I bring a lot of stuffs on both hands and just don't get enough grip to hold an umbrella. But raincoat is such a burden to bring in bags. If I don't fold it rightly, I'll end up stuffing it into my bag and make my bag looks bubbly.

Actually, what I really want realistically is not even on the list. All I want for this holiday are......great foods! I've been listing some foods to eat, like steaks (lamb, cows, anything), a mount of sushi, a large plate of sashimi (salmon and yellow-tail), salmon kamameshi, grilled duck, a decent three stacks of burger and you don't want to hear the rest of the list.

There are few things in mind recently. Few can be considered as All I Want For Christmas. And here goes the list (clockwise from top left):

  1. Haruki Murakami IQ84. I know this one is easy to be bought. But I just don't have time to buy this book. One time I have the chance seeing this book, I didn't bring any money (you don't think of anything when you woke up from naps and your mom asked you to eat out at Burger King, don't think, just go.)
  2. Red Velvet cropped top. This one looks comfy, and so....80s, which I very much like.
  3. Limited Edition Byron Lars Barbie. 50th Anniversary Edition Barbie? I can stand it if I don't have one. Vera Wang  Barbie? Again, I can stand it if I don't have one. This one? I just can't stand this one. The packaging is just lovely and all of the editions are black barbies.
  4. Immortals casts. I know it might sounds weird that I dislike Twilight Saga but I love Kellan Lutz, I'm Team Emmett. But not to be mistaken, I like him since his appearance in 90210. Other than Kellan Lutz appearance as Poseidon, there were Luke Evans as Zeus (yeay, Aramis of The Three Musketeers!) and Henry Cavill as Theseus. The whole film other than closing my eyes when Hyperion do something cruel, I wowed at those three guys. What a hunk. Anyway, I like the film.
  5. Make Up Forever HD Foundation. Yeah, I don't go to malls often these few months, so hopefully I have this one by the end of the holiday.
  6. Ceilings. I'm still gorging on ceilings and pillars, just so you know. More gorging after I watch Immortals.
  7. Lomography La Sardina Domino. I'm not really into lomography cameras, but this one looks collectible. Tin cameras? What's not to like?
  8. Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2010 peach sweater. Okay this is sooo last year but I'm still longing to have this one.

normally strange

Okay, two posts a day won't hurt. I have few things in mind that normally strange (it's strange in a normal way, not normal in a strange way -like as always). So here goes the list.
  1. I learn to type everything in its perfect spelling and writing. Like using capital letters (yay, I just did it!), and less typing rants whenever I switched myself into fast-typing mode. Rants feel good somehow. Like saying fuck is just a typical word of the or it. If rants were people, they're very outgoing persons cause they can be anywhere and people just love it.
  2. This morning I just came out with the thought of possibility of other people's interests on pillars. I mean, am I the only person who thinks pillars are that attractive? I just get eyegasms what-so-ever every single time I see pillars. There's something about their tall and stout figures. Even if it's just a small pillars, if it's cylindrical-shaped, I just love it without any background reasons. And I just get worse if it has paintings on it. Slightly scream with no intentions. Anyone here loves pillars as much as I do?
  3. There was this word: minx. I know what it means. Though it has the same translations as sluts or whores, but I personally think that minx is a beautiful word. It's like my and jinx mixed into a word then you get a pretty word. Who made that word at first exactly? Didn't he/she have a taste on words that he/she couldn't differ pretty words with literally pretty meanings and ugly words with literally ugly meanings. To me, minx is a pretty word with ugly meanings. Or, can I just change its meaning?
  4. I have no taste on music recently. I look into my iPod everyday and people may seem to see my ears are plugged with earphones most of the time, but to tell the truth, I prefer to listen to music because I don't have any conversations to build with people around. It's kind of nice not run into conversations, only if I don't have any particular musics I have to listen to. For the past few weeks, I have nothing to be listened, I just shuffled every playlists and artists, even listening Kasabian won't help, so does browsing mixes on 8tracks. Even worse, I'm not really in the mood of talking with people. Well, I talk to a few, but my few really means a few, it can be counted by fingers. Sometimes I feel like, being a schizophrenic is much better.
  5. Okay, let's see. I'm, uh, having a memory lost, sort of. Started from around two weeks ago. I found it hard to recall some actions and memories. I even forgot what I just said just now. Also, people recently said that I'm much more quiet than I usually am, plus, they said sometimes I'm appeared to be...spaced out, like my eyes see nothing or such. I feel fine if I don't get other symptoms like losing hairs and severe coughs. If it happens, then I'm back having brain seizures (it may sound scary, but it's not - well, if you have suffered it since you're 6).
  6. Yesterday I found this extra comfortable navy blue Balenciaga knit-sweaters. It was on sale, but still, it costs two Topshop sweatshirts or a pair of Dorothy Perkins jeans. I'm not much of a shopaholic, but I just love that knitwear! I just want to take them home immediately, they looked so comfortable, even when I tried it on, it looked really good on me. Why do everything have to be expensive in my eyes? It seems like everything I like is either expensive or rare, or dead (yeah, you name it: Christopher Reeve, Heath Ledger, John Hughes....blah-blah).
  7. It sounded pretty cool when someone told me that I got people talking about my pet plankton. Well, don't get me wrong, I like other pets like cats, dogs, bunnies, or even hamsters. But I'm a -I don't know how to put this into words-  person with a huge interest on fluffy, furry, and eyed things. I love to squeeze those such things, and that would rather kill them instead of making them much cuter. So I just have to find an amazing animal to pet. And I found this plankton kit. It was cool. It was perfect for me. It just have to be fed once a week and no need to wash the tank. For tricks, nah, certainly not I can teach such. You might see my plankton tank here (it's the top part of the tank). My planktons are zooplanktons. The downside is, I can't name them cause there are a lot of them. But other than that, plankton is a nice pet, it's nice cause it's barely do nothing besides going up and down, and I love to sit in front of it, doing nothing but watching.
Might have other thoughts but I forgot it (yea yea). I'll write the others if I have recalled it. Good day!

10 years time

i just happened to be listening to noah and the whale all day long yesterday, accompanying my ears studying for this horrid exam (though when you check my last.fm it'd be kasabian that played all day yesterday, i didn't turn off the laptop and 'cheated' with my ipod, so...). so, this particular song titled '5 years time' (it's a favourite, believe me) came into shuffle and that made me kind of wondering what's my future like. well 5 years will go really fast, so i'll just multiply it into 10 years. it is not what i'll be, but more like 'what i want my future like'. so, here goes the list of my future wants in 10 years time ahead.
  1. graduate from college, in a good way, i just care getting my degree (for my parents only) though i'm not that interested with the major, really.
  2. work in a museum as a curator or whatever, i just want to see sculptures and paintings everyday.
  3. get married and have a son. and live in somewhere in europe. (if it's '15 years time' i'll add 'a son and twins daughters', please let there be twins)
  4. this is not much, but my blogs will be popular. like my tumblr followers reach 3,000 followers or such, and my blogspot reaches, i don't know, like a lot followers. but supposedly, i don't really care much if i have a lot of followers or whatever, if there're people who reads and visits my blogs, i'll die happily.
  5. travel europe, in a minimum way (stuffs and costs), with a perfect partner in crime.
  6. create my own shop of printed tees.
  7. write books, two at least, five at most. i guess i'll finish my current writings when a ship called 'holiday' comes into my 'harbour of desperately-need-to-graduate-college'. it usually comes within summer breaks.
  8. cook a lot of kinds of foods. not just main courses, i want to bake cakes!
  9. paint. i will paint as much as i have time to paint. with no worries of exams and GPAs to impress parents.
  10. i know i'm appeared to hate college, but deep down i want to take post-graduate degree though i'm not sure what major it's going to be.
  11. have a lot of picnic trips to lakes, beaches, grassfields, any fields, to have quality times with my cameras. and in the future i will do this weekly, so that i can upload something into my flickr.
  12. go to ikea monthly.
  13. design my own house.
  14. ice skates once a week cause skating is the only sport i'm good at.
  15. be a good swimmer.
and i bet the list is still going on and on and on....
